A World Trade Organization delegation lauded the efforts exerted by the Egyptian government over the past few years and the strict economic decisions taken to push economy forward and secure a proper climate for foreign investments.

In a statement on Saturday, the Trade and Industry Ministry said the delegation wrapped up on Friday a three-day visit to Egypt which was meant to stand on the Egyptian economic, commercial and investment policies.

The delegation commended the 2020 strategy for promoting industry and foreign trade that was launched by the ministry.

The delegation held more than 30 meetings with officials from the Egyptian agencies concerned with trade and economic policies.

The meetings reviewed economic performance indicators in various domains as well as legislative reforms to improve the investment climate, read the statement.

The government is looking forward to a successful commercial policies reconsideration by the WTO as Egypt was one of the founders of the organization in 1995, the statement said.

The statement underlined the government's keenness on capitalizing on the delegation's visit to highlight economic reforms and the government's future program for upping growth rates and improving investment climate to lure more foreign investments.
