Gaza - KUNA
Ezz-Eddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas Movement, on Saturday night said a second commando raid behind the frontlines of the Israeli army and killed five Israeli soldiers.
A group of Al-Qassam commandoes penetrated through a tunnel into the Israeli military base in Sofa, to the east of Khan Yunus town, and ambushed the Israeli troops at close quarters, according to a statement by the Brigades.
It confirmed that five Israeli soldiers were shot dead - three in the head and two in other parts of their bodies, noting that the attackers returned home safely after the operation.
Earlier today Al-Qassam claimed responsibility for a similar deadly attack on an Israeli military post in Abu Meteibaq near Beeri Kibbutz where six Israeli soldiers along with one of the 12 attackers were killed.
The Israeli army acknowledged the attack but said only two soldiers were killed, identifying them as Sergeant Adar Barsano, 20, and Major Amotz Greenberg, 45.
