Mohammed Zaghloul al-Rimawi, 23.

A Palestinian youth on Tuesday morning was announced dead after he was heavily assaulted and arrested by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) who stormed his home in  the town of Beit Rima, northwest of Ramallah.

The mayor of Beit Rima Yazan al-Rimawi told the official agency that  Mohammed Zaghloul al-Rimawi, 23, was killed Tuesday morning after being brutally assaulted by the Israeli occupation forces

“The Israeli occupation forces stormed his house in a violent manner. They took off the door of the house without warning and immediately assaulted him during his sleep, till his clothes were ripped off. Then, they took him, unconscious, and several hours later announced his death.”

For his part, the head of the prisoners and ex-prisoners’ affairs committee, Major General Kadri Abu Bakr, blamed Israel for the crime of killing Zaghloul as a result of the brutal beating he was subjected to by Israeli special forces during his arrest from his home and transfer to the Halmish settlement.

General Abu Bakr said that the method of brutal arrest confirms the intention of the occupation of the killing of the martyr Khatib, where they stormed the house in large numbers of special units reinforced by the army, and started beatings him since the first moment of his arrest, taking him to the settlement of Halmish, and during all these hours he was subjected to continuous aggression.

Abu Bakr called on the international community to act immediately and hold Israel accountable for this crime and the dozens of crimes committed daily against the prisoners in a public and scandalous manner.

“The silence on the occupation crimes became unbearable. We are currently in contact with the Palestinian civil liaison, but at the same time we are following up the matter through a team of lawyers. We are in the process of asking the Israeli court to demand that the body be handed over to the Palestinian doctors to show the real causes of this heinous crime,” Abu Bakr added.
