At least nine people have been killed in a bomb and gun attack on a restaurant in the Somali capital Mogadishu, a spokesman for the city authorities said on Friday.

    Police said a car bomb exploded outside a Banadir restaurant and gunmen then stormed the building, the BBC reported. Security forces said they killed two attackers and arrested another after a six-hour operation overnight. 

Around 20 people managed to escape from the restaurant during the gunfight.
