At least 16 Taliban militants, including two local commanders, were killed during the ongoing Khalid operations in northern parts of Afghanistan.
The Shaheen Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces in the North said the militants suffered casualties in Sar-e-Pul and Faryab provinces in the past 24 hours. Several others including a local commander of the group were also wounded during the operations.
Meanwhile, a soldier of the ANA forces was shot dead by unknown gunmen in capital Kabul. The incident took place in the vicinity of the 5th police district of the city, (Khaama Press) reported.
This comes as two employees of the anti-corruption judicial center were shot dead by unknown gunmen in Kabul city earlier on Monday. No group or individual has so far claimed responsibility behind the killing of the security personnel so far.
