At least 20 insurgents were killed in military operations and an airstrike carried out on Saturday by Afghan army in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
There were seven Pakistani militants and others affiliated to Daesh terrorist group among the killings, the Afghan news agency Khama Press reported, quoting a statement by the provincial government.
Afghan forces conducted military operations in Nazian and Lalpur districts including ground military operations and an air raid, the statement noted.
Forces seized amounts of arms and ammunition that were possessed by militants, the statement added.
Afghan authorities denied reports saying that two civilians have been killed during targeting two hideouts of the terror group in Spinzhai area.
Daesh and Taliban terrorist groups attempt to control outskirts of Nangarhar province. Therefore Afghan forces and US-led coalition repeatedly conduct military operations in these areas to prevent militants from controlling them.
