At least five Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and 17 others injured when a US aircraft bombarded their check post in central Logar province on Thursday, said officials. The incident took place at a check post in Bandoka area of Charakh district of the Logar province early in the morning. The administrative head of the town, Khalilullah Kamal, confirmed that five ANA soldiers had been killed and 17 others wounded in the air strike. A commander for the fourth brigade of 203rd Thunder Military Corps, Abdul Razzaq Safai in a press statement said that 13 ANA soldiers were killed or wounded in the air raid. Moreover, the Defense Ministry spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi confirmed that five army soldiers died and eight others wounded in the foreign forces air strike. The spokesman for the Governor of the Logar province, Din Mohammad Darwish said that a group of local officials were tasked to investigate the issue. International troops have not yet commented on the issue.
