A powerful explosion, thought to be caused by an attack on a popular restaurant frequented by foreigners, rocked the centre of the Afghan capital, Kabul, today.

According to a statement by the Interior Ministry Spokesman, initial information show that the blast occurred in Fathallah Fort neighbourhood in an attack on a restaurant. No more details were given on the attack.
