A security man was killed and around 17 pedestrians were injured in a booby-trapped car explosion outside the residence of the Iranian ambassador in Sanaa.
The ambassador was not at home at the time of the explosion.
Security forces cordoned off the scene of the blast and ambulances rushed to carry the wounded causing traffic jams in the area.
The new Iranian ambassador arrived in Sanaa last Wednesday after one year of the departure of the former ambassador who left in light of Yemen's accusations of Iran of interference in its domestic affairs
