Sanaa - Arab Today
Cholera has reportedly spread in a number of villages in Central Yemen, killing eight in Makiras, al Sawadiya and al Shariya.
As many as 97 confirmed cases have been reported so far, medical sources told Al Masdar Online Saturday.
About 300 more suspected cases have also been reported, the sources added.
The number of suspected cholera cases across Yemen has skyrocketed to 1,410 within three weeks of an outbreak being declared, the World Health Organization (WHO) said last week.
The cases were reported in 10 out of Yemen's 23 governorates, mostly in Taiz, Aden, Lahj, Hodeida and Sanaa.
Yemen's health ministry announced the outbreak in early October.
