Two strong explosions took place at dawn Sunday in Hawta city in Lahij governorate, located 27 kilometers off Aden, causing panic among citizens, according to Aden Al Ghad online newspaper.

The paper said gunmen planted mines at the security premises and detonated it.

Heavy smoke billowed out of the building.

The security building of Lahij and the central security premises were completely destroyed during the war.

Lahij Governor on Saturday made a tour of the governmental premises which have been destroyed by the war and ordered its rebuilding.

The paper said the explosions are likely carried out by elements of Al Qaeda organization.
