Originally former manager Mick McCarthy’s assistant, Connor has been handed full control until the end of the season. The 49-year-old’s first game in charge saw the Molineux outfit go two goals down, away to Newcastle, before a second half comeback rescued a point and striker Doyle has revealed that Connor’s appointment has given everyone at the club a vital boost in their fight against relegation. “We all hugged him afterwards because everyone was so happy to get something from the game.” Doyle told Birmingham Mail. “That\'s because a lot of really nice people work for this club and as players we need to keep this team in the Premier League. “We\'ve a lot of responsibility on our shoulders and all we\'ve done with this draw is give ourselves a chance. “The management have done the rounds but it\'s nice that they have appointed from within. “That gives all the other staff at Wolves a massive lift, to know that if you do well you get a chance. “Everybody knows Terry and we are 100 per cent behind him. “TC has been the manager for the last two weeks anyway and has been taking the training so there hasn\'t been a big shift in anything.”
