Sheikh Sultan al-Nahyan

Camel racing in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has made great progress over recent years, Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of GCC Camel Racing Organising Committee, said on Monday.
An evidence of this is the organization of separate grand races in each country, besides the GCC Championship held in the member states in rotation, Sheikh Sultan told reporters after his talks here today with Chairman and Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports (PAYS) Sheikh Ahmad Mansour Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Sheikh Sultan said his visit to Kuwait aims at discussing means of developing the GCC camel racing, removing obstacles facing practitioners of the genuine sport. He noted that Kuwait organizes one of the biggest races in the region annually.
He also said that he had invited Sheikh Ahmad Al-Mansour and other senior sports officials in Kuwait to attend the 4th GCC Camel Racing Championship to be held in Oman in November.
