Algerian Hamid Grine

Spread of violence in Algerian stadiums is due to "laxness" as no "sufficiently severe" disciplinary actions are taken against the players, coaches, managers and fans violating the rules, to dissuade them from doing it again, Minister of Communication Hamid Grine said Saturday.
"Whenever there are violations, there must be exemplary penalties," the minister told Radio Algeria International on Saturday.
"We should not be lenient especially about serious violations. The penalty, in such cases, must be firm and harsh,"
"We most often focus on physical violence, as it is the most visible. But there are other kinds of violence, less obvious but as much terrible, and against which we should fight."
The official insists on dialogue to put an end to violence, "which may also be the result of the lack of communication among people."
The minister seized the opportunity to condemn the tragic incident that occurred Saturday in the stadium of Tizi-Ouzou (103-km east of Algiers), and in which Cameroon's striker of the JS Kabylie football club, Albert Ebossé, lost his life.
