As many as 340 Egyptians returned home from Libya via Salloum crossing over the past 24 hours, said Marsa Matrouh Security chief Mokhtar el Senbary.
Out of all the returnees, 263 Egyptians came back legally, while 77 returned illegally, he noted in statements on Sunday.
Travel procedures for 748 people, including 211 Egyptians and 537 Libyans, have been finalized, Senbary added.
Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
