Riyadh - Arab Today
Saudi Arabia today executed 47 people convicted of plotting and carrying out terrorist attacks, targeting civilians and security forces, Saudi Interior Ministry announced.
Those executed were of Saudi nationality, alongside one Chadian and one Egyptian.
In a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the ministry said the 47 had been convicted of adopting the radical "takfiri" ideology, joining "terrorist organisations" and implementing various "criminal plots."
The charges included attacks on security and military installations, as well as conspiring to undermine Saudi Arabia's economy, image and relations with brotherly and friendly countries.
