Airbus, on Tuesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Dubai Land Department, DLD, to provide geospatial solutions that will enhance the promotion of properties in the emirate.
The MoU was signed by Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director-General of DLD, and Mikail Houari, Airbus President for Africa and the Middle East, at the 16th edition of the renowned real estate exhibition, Cityscape Global, which is taking place in Dubai’s World Trade Centre from 11th to 13th September.
The agreement supports Dubai’s Smart Government directives and is in line with the UAE Vision 2021 to develop government services and achieve a high quality of life for the citizens and residents of the UAE. DLD’s vision is aimed at implementing innovative technologies such as 3D and machine learning to enhance the promotion of properties in the emirate to global audiences worldwide.
Under the terms of the agreement, Airbus and DLD will explore the development of a pioneering solution consisting of a high-definition virtual 3D navigation experience and improvement of the department’s property valuation model. Utilising data-driven smart technologies form an important part of DLD’s ambitions to better organise and regulate the Dubai real estate market in addition to catalysing an investment drive in the sector.
Sultan Butti bin Mejren said, "DLD is delighted to announce its partnership with Airbus, which firmly demonstrates DLD’s ongoing commitment to exploring the most innovative solutions to promote Dubai properties globally and further enhance our customer service offerings through accessible and engaging digital technologies.
"Going forward, investors will be able to select and facilitate their investments directly on the web through the DLD portal, thus greatly improving the overall user experience. We look forward to furthering our collaborative relationship with Airbus as we continue to explore the most pioneering technologies in line with Dubai’s Smart Government initiative. Launched by Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to focus efforts on individuals and the community, the initiative represents the city's most important hub and seeks to embrace technological innovation to make Dubai an efficient, safe and influential experience for residents and visitors alike."
DLD and Airbus have also agreed to explore co-operation beyond Dubai in the Middle East.
"This partnership with DLD is very important to us and opens a wide number of opportunities combining the geospatial technologies of Airbus and the unique expertise of DLD in land management to go one step beyond in the delivery of innovative digital services to governments. We look forward to continuing to develop our relationship with DLD to serve the emirate and its development and further grow Dubai’s real estate sector through pioneering products and services," Houari said.
