Ajman Digital Government and IBM sign agreement at GITEX

Digital Ajman Government has signed a joint cooperation agreement with IBM, on the sidelines of its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2017.

The agreement will see IBM providing consulting and strategic planning services and determining both the processes and the technology requirements for Ajman’s Digital Government implementations.

The agreement also aims to strengthen cooperation and coordination in the digital infrastructure of the Government in Ajman, while supporting development of the digital transformation plan in the emirate that will transform all conventional services in the government departments to digital services compatible with the latest trends in the digital era.

Ohood Ali Abdullah Al Shuhail, Director-General of Ajman Digital Government, and Amr Refaat, General Manager IBM Middle East and Pakistan, signed the agreement.

The agreement encompasses many initiatives and projects of Smart Cities that will be implemented across the local and federal entities in the Emirate of Ajman. IBM will provide the electronic platform for application and linking integrated services in order to provide exceptional experience to the consumer and an interconnected, paperless governance. The goal is to become paperless by shifting all transactions to Blockchain - an online encrypted database.

Both sides stressed through the terms of the agreement on the need to coordinate and work in conjunction with updating and preparing miniature models to take advantage of Blockchain technology in the Emirate of Ajman, which plans to invest in its strategy to achieve the goals of Ajman 2021 and the digital transformation plan, which is currently underway.
