Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, attended last night a reception hosted by the Japanese embassy to mark the occasion of the 63rd Anniversary of the Japan Self-Defence Forces Day at the Intercontinental Abu Dhabi Hotel.
During a meeting with Kanji Fujiki, Ambassador of Japan to the UAE, Mohammed Al Bowardi highlighted the depth of UAE-Japan's friendship ties and the evolution they have undergone over the years.
On his remarks, Fujiki said: "We believe that bilateral relations between Japan and UAE will become increasingly important in the years to come. For both countries sharing values, the possibility of cooperation is infinite. We would like to further strengthen our relationship in upcoming future."
Commander Hiromasa Takahashi, Military Attach?, said: "Japan will continue to work hand in hand with the UAE and we would like to contribute to prosperity, peace and stability of the world."
This reception is an annual event that commemorates the formation of the Japan Self-Defence Forces which was established on 1st of July 1954.
The Self-Defence Force’s purpose is to preserve peace, public order and Japan’s independence and safety.
The event was attended by representatives of the armed forces, diplomatic community, and civil society.
