Abu dhabi - WAM
H.H. Sheikha Al Jalila bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on the occasion of her grandfather, the Late King Hussein of Jordan’s birthday, today donated medical equipment worth AED 9 million to the Jordanian Ministry of Health.
The donation reflects the deep-rooted brotherly bonds between the UAE and Jordan, and honours the memory of the late King Hussein, who was instrumental in establishing deep ties between the two countries.
The equipment, which will be installed across hospitals in Jordan, includes vital life-saving bio-medical machines such as incubators, ventilators, defibrillators and blood bank equipment.
Jordan’s Minister of Health Dr. Mahmoud Al Shaib said: "We are extremely grateful to Sheikha Al Jalila for her generous donation of medical equipment to hospitals across Jordan. She follows in the footsteps of her parents, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, and we are blessed to have so much support extended to us to promote the sustainable development of Arab countries like Jordan. The donation will support the Ministry in providing high-quality healthcare services and will immediately be put to use in treating patients across the Kingdom."
The equipment, which will begin to ship today, will be installed in hospitals in Jordan throughout the next two months.
