Al Zayani visits FCSA, stresses importance of co-operation

Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, has stressed the importance of co-operation to unify statistical work and the methodologies of its application in the GCC countries.

He further clarified that monitoring the performances of countries and working on elevating it in the international indexes is an important matter.

This was stated during his visit to the headquarters of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, FCSA, in Dubai, with the attendance of Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Chairwoman of FCSA.

"The statistical work and methodologies of the application must be unified in the GCC countries, especially in support of the suggested projects and initiatives. This serves the common aspects of monitoring and providing data, international competitiveness indicators and a global direction towards the indicators of the important sectors such as education, health, energy, security and tolerance. These serve the initiatives and activities, which go in line with the directions of the governments of the GCC countries, and for everyone to strive in order to achieve the ambitions and future directions," Dr. Al Zayani said.

He also inspected the FCSA headquarters, along with Al Hashimy and Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director-General of FCSA, and the accompanying work team from the Secretariat-General of the GCC. He was briefed about the most important services offered by the headquarters to its employees and visitors.

Dr. Al Zayani praised all the efforts of the FCSA in applying the UAE government’s directives to ensure the happiness of employees; adopt innovation and transparency in the work environment; grant the youthful Emirati adequacies the chance to manage, design and innovate projects; give them the confidence and support to fulfil their roles and responsibilities as a work team in developing the competitive and statistical sector, and achieve the sustainable development goals.

The FCSA work team demonstrated to Dr. Al Zayani the UAE’s performance in the 17 most important international competitiveness reports as he praised the role of the FCSA in monitoring the country’s performance and working on enhancing it.

Dr. Al Zayani further stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and conducting successful experiments, which will strengthen the competitiveness of the GCC countries in the international rankings and unify the statistical work between the countries in line with international standards.

"We were honoured by the visit of Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani to the headquarters of the authority, appreciating his admiration of the work environment, and his focus on the initiatives, which were demonstrated by the authority’s work team. These meetings and visits bring the work teams of the GCC countries closer, accelerating the accomplishments and initiatives in an exceptional way and with everyone’s responsibility in order to ensure the rank of the GCC countries towards advanced levels internationally," Al Hashimy added.
