The Arab League (AL) said that the 30th and 59th rounds of the Arab Transport Ministers' Council and its executive office respectively will be held on October 21-22 at the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in Alexandria.
In statements on Sunday, the head of the transport and tourism department at the AL Dina el Zaher underlined that Egypt, represented by Transport Minister Hisham Arafat, will be handed the presidency of the 30th round of the Arab Ministers of Transport.
El Zaher said also that the agenda of the council includes 19 articles tackling the maritime, land and air transport topped by studying the establishment of Arab environmental center specialized in sustainable transport pertaining to land transportation.
Concerning maritime transportation, the agenda will probe discussing an agreement to organize cooperation among Arab countries and studying the outcome as well as recommendations of the 6th International Maritime Transport and Logistics Conference.
The impact of the Silk Road on the Arab countries as well as studying a proposal of establishing an Arab maritime bloc will be also discussed, she reiterated.
