Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah organises seminar in Paris

In line with the directives of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, the academy has organised, in collaboration with the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to UNESCO, a scientific seminar at the UNESCO headquarters building in Paris.

The scientific seminar, to which a number of personalities, scientists and academics from various countries were invited, touched upon ways of coordination between the linguistic institutions and academies.

During the seminar, the participants talked about the coordination mechanisms and reviewed ways of implementing and activating them.

In his remarks, Dr. Hassan El Shafei, Chairman of Arabic Language and Science Academy Union, stressed on the areas of boosting cooperation among the linguistic institutions and reviewed a brief historical summary on the birth of linguistic foundations.

Dr. Mohamed Safi Mostaghanmi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, said in a speech during the seminar that the Ruler of Sharjah was aiming to establish the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah to be the link between the centres and the linguistic institutions of the world.

The seminar came up with a number of recommendations, a large part of which was activated. Participants agreed that this workshop is the beginning of a positive interaction for all language centres.

The seminar was attended by Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Media Corporation, and a number of heads of centres and institutions of linguistic communities from across the world.
