Removing mines in Yemen

Explosive devices disposal engineers are continuing to clear mines and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) planted in the liberated Mokha city.

The mines were planted by the Saleh/Houthi militias to impede the advancing national Yemeni army and resistance fighters.

''The Yemeni national army yesterday arrested 20 elements of the militias while combing the city,'' a military source was quoted as saying by the Yemen news agency.

Yemeni forces, backed by the Saudi-led coalition, liberated the strategic Red Sea port city of Mokha from the Houthis after fierce fighting.

The army and resistance fighters shelled a number of Saleh/Houthi militias' fronts in the governorate of Shabwa, and targeted a militia military convoy in the directorate of Khab.
