Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to NATO Dr. Bahia Al Jishi has participated as representative of the countries of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) in the meeting of the Academic Advisory Council of the Defence College of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), held in Rome.
The ambassador praised the high level of NATO Defence College courses and the opportunities it offers for enhancing professional capabilities, and commended the fruitful cooperation between the college, one of the most prestigious military and strategic colleges, and the Middle East Faculty and their close cooperation with Bahrain.
She also hailed the prominent level of the Middle East Faculty and called for further cooperation and coordination in research programmes between the faculty and the research centres in the region, particularly taking advantage from the experience of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies, NATO Regional Centre and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative in Kuwait.
Bahrain- NATO Relations have witnessed significant progress over the past years as the Kingdom has exerted great efforts to enhance practical cooperation in line with its foreign policy that aims to encourage and strengthen international cooperation for world peace and stability.
