Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, Gebran Bassil, welcomed on Friday British Secretary of State for International Development, Alistair Burt.

The pair reportedly broached the general situation in the region, the Syrian crisis, as well as Britain's support to the Lebanese army.

Bassil also met with the Foreign Minister of Maldives, Mohamed Asim, who is on his first official visit to Lebanon.

Both men discussed the best means to strengthen and develop cooperation in various fields between the two countries
