Under the patronage H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Ruler's Office, on Tuesday, inaugurated the Fourth International Conference, "Education Systems Improvement Driven by International Assessments," at the Al Razi Hall in University of Sharjah.
The conference highlights ways of reforming and developing the education system by using the indicators and information provided by the national studies data on students, teachers, schools, resources and educational practices.
The conference was inaugurated by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Regional Centre for Educational Planning.
Delivering the opening speech, Al Hammadi expressed his gratitude to the Ruler of Sharjah for his continuous support and generous contributions, which form an essential pillar in the development of the educational system in the emirate of Sharjah in particular and the UAE in general.
He further stressed that the development of education is the UAE’s goal and there is a need to make radical changes in various components of the educational system. The ministry adopted a number of supportive educational frameworks and policies that serve to implement needed improvement.
Sheikh Salem Al Qasimi toured the exhibition being held along with the conference and stopped at several educational platforms, where he was briefed on their main goals.
The event was also attended by Marwan Ahmad Al Sawaleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education for Academic Affairs, and a number of dignitaries and representatives of educational and teaching bodies.
