Church attack by suicide bomber

The suicide bomber who blew himself up on Sunday at a Cairo church was among the participants in Rabaa sit-in staged by the Muslim Brotherhood in 2013, a security source with the national security sector said on Monday.

Security bodies have identified two other suspects involved in the attack and are stepping up efforts to arrest them, the source told MENA.

The source added that the four suspects, including a woman, who were arrested in connection with the blast originate from Fayyoum and live in Cairo’s Nasr City.

Sunday's blast at the Boutrosiya Church next to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Abbassiya district left 25 people dead and dozens of others wounded.
