Minister of Information Melhem Riachy said in the wake of today's cabinet session that the Council of Ministers has approved the appointment of a Socioeconomic Council and appropriations to finance the impending parliamentary elections.

Riachy added that the cabinet has also approved contract extension of two power companies "Boss" and "KVA".

In turn, Minister of Culture Ghattas Khoury announced the endorsement of a law for the protection of historic sites and heritage buildings
