The Dar Al Ber Society, DABS, in a positive response to the #Year of Giving initiative, launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has initiated an all new service for indigent people.
The 37-year-old charity association, based in Dubai, has launched the ‘Barq of Giving’ or ‘Charity Wire’ philanthropic service for helping registered low-income people and patients in cooperation with the UAE Barq Group.
Both sides have agreed that the charity project, in line with the presidential initiative, is one of the early fruits of their strategic cooperation this year, and an attempt to put in place the exemplary vision of the prudent leadership.
Abdullah Ali bin Zayed, Executive Director of Dar Al Ber, and Khalid Ismael Safar, Director-General of the UAE Barq Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in this regard.
Commenting on the signing of the MoU, Abdullah Ali bin Zayed said, "The promising agreement is aimed to boost humanitarian and sociable cooperation between the two sides, and enhance solidarity among members of the society."
Mr. Safar said the service is totally for charity and does not have even a margin benefit. "As per the memo, a supreme committee of both sides shall be formed, to study and refer the humanitarian cases verified by Dar Al Ber to the UAE Barq to highlight on its media platform."
Dar Al Ber will be specifying certain phone numbers for SMS-based contributions to such cases.
