Global Future Councils

Over 600 world-leading experts will participate in the annual meeting of Global Future Councils in Dubai on 11th and 12th November, 2017.

The meeting will help prepare countries, businesses and people for the technological disruption that will be brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

This year’s meeting is the second in the councils’ two-year term. It will allow members to jointly explore ways of facilitating systemic change in critical areas such as health, energy and infrastructure through breakthrough technologies related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The annual meeting will bring together more than 600 members of the forum’s Global Future Councils a network of 35 distinct councils each focused on a specific issue, industry or technology to develop new and original ideas to positively shape the future in a time of rapid technological change.

In addition, Council members will have the opportunity to meet representatives and partners of the forum’s new centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, to explore how particular technologies can bring new economic and societal benefits. These include artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous vehicles, blockchain, drones, digital trade, the Internet of Things and precision medicine.

The meeting will draw on the work of the councils to date and allow their members to connect the dots between respective areas of exploration and develop innovative solutions for the most pressing global challenges.
