Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Faisal Al-Khamis said here on Wednesday that the supeme national election committee reviewed the various electronic tools and mechanism available in the direct and indirect electronic voting. Al-Khamis, also acting Secretary General of the supreme national election committee, said in a press statement that the committee listened to a detailed explanation from a representative of an international company operating in the field of electronic voting in an effort to develop the electoral process and the use of the latest technology available in this field. He explained that the committee reviewed the direct and indirect electronic voting mechanisms and guarantees available in the field of total confidentiality for all stages of the electoral process while taking into account the principle of full transparency sought by the committee. He stressed the importance of providing the easiest ways that are commensurate with all voters, both those who are dealing with modern technologies or those who have no experience in this field. The committee became acquainted with some experiments and reviewed the practical aspects of the accuracy of the election results and the speed of the process itself after the completion of voting, which would shorten the time and effort and minimize the financial cost of the electoral process.
