Egypt's permanent representative to the United Nations headquarters in Geneva Amr Ramadan has said the suffering of the Palestinian people is escalating in the aftermath of the Israeli military operations, illegal practices of occupation and the blockade Israel is imposing on the Gaza Strip.
Addressing a session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva to discuss conditions of human rights in the Palestinian territories on Wednesday, Ramadan said Israel's practices against the Palestinians led to killing and destruction of infrastructure especially in the Gaza Strip.
He slammed the Israeli practices of settlement and demolition of houses in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem, as well as the arbitrary detention of Palestinians.
He criticized the stances of Western countries during the debate on Israel's practices against the Palestinians, pointing out that some countries boycotted the session.
