Egypt has expressed solidarity with Bahrain over the steps taken to maintain its security and stability and the safety of its people.
Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zaid, in a statement issued today, said Egypt understands HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s stance not to participate in any Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit or meeting attended by Qatar.
He said that the decision was a matter of sovereignty to address Qatar’s destructive policies towards Bahrain's security and stability over the past years.
