Egyptian Armed Forces will perform air and naval parades on Thursday to mark the 43rd anniversary of October 6 war victory.

Meetings with army veterans who fought in the 1973 war against Israel will be aired on the television and satellite channels all the day, some of them appearing for the first time to talk about their memories during the war.

Also, the army will broadcast via television and radio channels military statements that were issued on the day of October 6, 1973.

This day celebrates Egypt's victory in the 6th of October war of 1973. The war involved a joint Egyptian-Syrian attack on Israel, with Egyptian forces crossing the Suez Canal to recapture territory taken by Israel in 1967. The war ended with a ceasefire on October 25.
