Egyptian employees too will have to submit to surprise drug tests

An Egyptian government official announced that surprise anti-drug campaigns would include government officials in its ambit. The tests would ascertain whether any of the officials in the administrative cadre were taking drugs or not.

Mohamed Jamil, head of the Central Organization for Organization and Management, said at a press conference on Sunday that if the results of the tests on any employees were confirmed positive for drug use, they will be notified, and if proven, provided treatment.

They will be relieved from work immediately, before legal and administrative procedures are taken.
