Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, Empower, has organised a blood donation drive in collaboration with the Dubai Blood Donation Centre on the occasion of World Blood Donors Day, which is marked today, June 14th.

The campaign is also in support of the UAE’s ‘#Year of Giving 2017’ and being held under the slogan, ‘Give Blood. Give Now. Give Often’.

The drive aims to spread awareness on the importance of blood donations and how donated blood can be instrumental in saving lives. "Donating blood is a simple act of giving which costs nothing, but can save a life. As an organisation we are aware of the possibilities of shortage of blood at blood banks, and as such our campaign aims to encourage people to donate regularly," Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, said.
