ERC provides aid relief in Hadramaut districts

The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has provided urgent aid relief to underprivileged families in the districts of Rumah and Thamud in the Hadramaut desert region, within the framework of UAE’s continuous support to the Yemeni people as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

This aid is ERC’s response to the urgent humanitarian pleas by the districts' residents who lack essential services. An ERC field team visited the areas to understand the needs of the families and distribute relief aid to hundreds of residents who have been suffering due to the deterioration of economic conditions.

The residents expressed their happiness with the ERC's aid relief campaign, and also thanked the UAE for its support and provision of necessary humanitarian assistance.

Abdulaziz Al Jabri, Head of the ERC team in Hadramaut, reaffirmed the UAE's keenness to support Yemeni-liberated areas during operation ‘Restoring Hope.’ He said that the ERC would implement a range of projects that will reduce the suffering of citizens, including construction projects to restore infrastructure and government facilities, as well as humanitarian aid projects that involve the distribution of food baskets and other basic supplies.

Hamdan Manhali, ERC Supervisor in Hadramaut, said that the distribution of this humanitarian aid fulfils the needs of the residents and helps them survive the severe conditions. He also highlighted the desire of the ERC to continue implementing these projects and deliver relief aid to all disadvantaged individuals and families in Hadramaut and its districts, as a gesture of solidarity and brotherhood.

District officials expressed their appreciation to the ERC and its field team for their efforts to reach out to vulnerable and needy people in the different regions and liberated governorates
