ERC, Senegalese Embassy discuss humanitarian projects in Senegal

The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, and the Embassy of Senegal in the UAE have discussed the possibility of launching vital humanitarian and development projects, through the ERC, which are required by cities and humanitarian organisations in Senegal.

During his meeting at the ERC’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi with Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Ambassador of Senegal to UAE, Fahad Abdulrahman bin Sultan, Deputy Secretary-General for International Aid at ERC, stated that the ERC welcomes the humanitarian and charitable partnership with all institutions and organisations working to provide humanitarian assistance and relief aid to all vulnerable people in Senegal, as well as supporting many orphans in the country.

The ERC’s local and international humanitarian assistance is part of the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the ERC, he added.

Ambassador Sylla expressed his appreciation to the ERC and his desire to learn about its activities and the types of aid it provides to various cities in Senegal, while praising its work in responding to local and international humanitarian crises.

The ERC has provided humanitarian assistance and launched various construction and development projects in Senegal, through the UAE Embassy in the capital, Dakar, and charitable non-governmental organisations. The total assistance provided by the ERC is around AED39.62 million.

The meeting was also attended by international aid advisers, heads of departments, and officials.
