Hadramaut - Arab Today
The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, today signed an agreement for a project to supply pumps and pipes to connect two artesian wells to the main water well in Al Odaiba in Ghayl Ba Wazir, Hadramaut Governorate, to collect water for use in local services and production.
The agreement was signed by Abdulaziz Al Jabri, Head of the ERC Team in Hadramaut, and Eng. Waheeb Ghanim, General Manager of the Water and Sanitation Local Corporation in the Hadramaut Coast, with the attendance of Ahmed Al Baloushi, Deputy Head of the ERC Team.
The agreement stipulates the extension, digging and connecting of the two artisan wells to the main water tank in the area, as well as the construction of internal networks, the installation pumping stations, the establishment of water networks, and the preparation of the sites of pumping stations and tanks.
Following the signing of the agreement, Al Jaberi highlighted the importance of completing the final stage of connecting the two wells to the main water collection line, to improve the water situation in Ghayl Ba Wazir. He added that the project represents the desire of the UAE and its wise leadership to improve the local humanitarian conditions and promote the ERC’s initiatives, to ease the suffering of local residents due to difficult conditions and support local infrastructure projects.
Ghanim expressed his utmost appreciation to the UAE’s leadership, government and people for their projects to support local infrastructure and their service and rescue aid while highlighting the ERC’s efforts to implement vital projects and ease the suffering of the residents of Hadramaut Governorate. He also highlighted the key importance of the water well project, considering the number of sectors that will potentially benefit and the critical water situation in Ghayl Ba Wazir.
