Arab League headquarters

The executive bureau of the Arab health ministers' council started its activities on Tuesday at the Arab League headquarters in the presence of Egypt's Minister of Health Ahmed Emad el Din.

Chairing the meeting, Kuwait is represented by assistant undersecretary of the health ministry Majda al Qattan. The meeting is also attended by the health ministers or their representatives from Lebanon, Libya, Comoros, Mauritania and Yemen.

The executive bureau is to discuss preparations for the 47th ordinary session of the Arab health ministers' council, to kick off Wednesday with the aim of addressing health and medical challenges facing the Arab region countries in addition to the adoption of a strategy for combating AIDS.

During the meeting, to be chaired by Yemen, the Arab health ministers are scheduled to sign Cairo declaration on the Arab women's health in 2017, dubbed "your health is our priority".

Representatives of regional and international organizations as well as Arab specialized unions and councils will also take part in Wednesday's meeting.
