Los Angeles - Arab Today
Under the sponsorship of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, a youth seminar was recently organised in Los Angeles, US, by the Eyal Zayed (Zayed's Sons) Forum, which saw the participation of students from the UAE and Saudi Arabia who are studying in the United States, along with representatives of several national authorities from both countries.
The Eyal Zayed Forum is the first youth forum to bring together Emirati and Saudi students in LA into one cultural forum, due to the strong ties between the two countries.
The opening of the forum was attended by Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul AlFalasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Issa, Cultural Attache of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the US, and Abdulla Alsaboosi, UAE Consul-General in LA, as well as several other officials.
"The future of any nation is based on its youth, as they are the foundation of its renaissance and the key to its success and progress because they are the ones who will make an impressionable difference in their future," Dr. AlFalasi said in his speech.
Dr. Al Issa highlighted the important role of youth forums in promoting and discussing positive and constructive ideas, and in preventing extremism.
He added that the participation of Saudi students in the Eyal Zayed Forum is due to the UAE’s request for the youth of both countries to stand together.
Alsaboosi thanked the Saudi authorities for supporting the Eyal Zayed Forum and the participation of the Saudi students.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Hamili, chairman of the organising committee of the gathering conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
