Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Monday received at his Meerab residence Future bloc MP Meerab

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Monday received at his Meerab residence Future bloc MP Meerab Ahmed Fatfat, with talks reportedly touching on the current political developments after the resignation of PM Saad Hariri.

On emerging, MP Fatfat called for the formation of a sovereign government or else 'the country shall plunge into the tunnel of a political crisis not easy to extricate from.'

Asked about their candidate to lead the sovereign government which he called for, MP Fatfat said: "Certainly our candidate is PM Saad Hariri," adding that Hariri is the only one capable of carrying out this task.

The Lawmaker also indicated that PM Hariri's resignation was due to the internal balance, adding that the return of Hariri to Beirut is linked to his security circumstances.
