Flag Day embodies all means of pride, national identity and belonging

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, said that the UAE’s successful union model is one of the main reasons for the success of the development march and the progress being witnessed by the country.

Speaking about the significance of the occasion, Sheikh Hazza said, "On the occasion of the UAE Flag Day, which coincides with President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's accession to the presidency, we have all means of pride, national identity and belonging to the homeland. We recall our shining history and the sacrifices of our forefathers to reach this era, which is full of development and prosperity to re-affirm our commitment to uniting behind the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

''Flag Day is one of the most significant national occasions through which forefathers transfer the noble values represented in the flag, and all the feelings of loyalty and belonging for this homeland are renewed as all of us share its wealth to contribute together to hoisting its flag. On this occasion, we should appreciate the sacrifices of our martyrs who showed acts of patriotism and loyalty to defend the security of the homeland and to continue its excellence and glory march.

"Preserving and embodying all the meaningful symbols of the flag is a duty of every Emirati. From every institution where the flag was hoisted, Emiratis have proven their commitment to their unity and their flag, which is the symbol of their unity. Today, we see youth are involving more and more in the building and development process and leading innovative initiatives, which would have the best effect on the coming generation," he said in conclusion.
