FNC to discuss UAE Insurance Authority law, FAHR policies

The Federal National Council, FNC, will hold the third and fourth meetings of the third ordinary session of its 16th legislative chapter on 5th and 6th December, headed by Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the FNC, at its headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

During these sessions, the FNC will discuss a draft federal law on amending certain provisions in Federal Law No. 06 of 2007 on the establishment and regulation of the UAE Insurance Authority, as well as the policies of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, FAHR, and eight questions will be addressed to government representatives.

During the third session, FNC members will ask seven questions. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, First Deputy Speaker of the FNC, will address five issues on national charity organisations to Hessa Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development.

Azza Sulaiman bin Sulaiman will then ask two questions on the lack of legislation to regulate local volunteer work and assisting social security beneficiaries to face rising living costs. Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mehrezi will also ask a question on the age limit to obtain a marriage licence, and Salem Ali Al Shehhi will ask a question on productive family support.

The session will also include two questions to Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, from Saeed Saleh Al Rumaithi on the rise in car prices, and from Azza Soliman bin Soliman on misselling organic agricultural products.

During its third session, the FNC will review a report from the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee on its recommendations on the policies of the National Emergency and Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, as part of its review of committee reports.

The FNC will also review its recommendation on the control of dietary supplements used in sporting facilities.
