Hamdan bin Mohammed receives Governor-General of Australia

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, today received Sir Peter Cosgrove, Governor-General of Australia, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

During the meeting, which was held at Emirates Towers in Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan and his guest exchanged views on the historical relations between the UAE and Australia, and the possibility of creating further rapprochement and bilateral cooperation at all levels and in all fields, especially educational and cultural fields.

The Crown Prince praised the advanced level of relations between the two countries and peoples, reiterating that these relations are based on mutual respect and common interests.

Australia's Governor-General lauded the extensive cultural progress witnessed by the UAE in the last decade, which has covered all sectors, especially the infrastructure, services and investment environment, which attracts major international companies and businessmen from around the world.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Head of the Honour Mission accompanying the Governor-General, Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai's Court, and Arthur Milton Spiro, Ambassador of Australia to the UAE.
