Prime Minister Saad Hariri contacted this evening the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, condemning the terrorist attack that targeted al-Rawdah Mosque in north Sinai and conveying his condolences for the victims.
Hariri condemned "the terrorist attack that targeted innocent worshippers on blessed Friday", adding that "it reflects the extent of hatred and grudge of terrorist organizations in destroying Arab and Islamic societies".
He said: "These attacks revealed the falsity of taking religions as a pretext to commit the most heinous crimes against innocents. These attacks call for the necessity to unite all efforts to deracinate terrorism from its roots and protect Islam and Muslims from those who violate their security, religion and safety of their homelands.
We reiterate our strong condemnation of this terrorist crime and affirm our support of our brothers in the Egyptian Arab Republic. We express our full solidarity with Egypt, its president, government and people, in their efforts to fight these terrorist organizations and we offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs, asking God almighty to protect Egypt from all risks
