The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri issued an administrative memorandum proclaiming Friday September 8, 2017 a day of national mourning for the martyr soldiers.
The memorandum read as follows:
"A national day of mourning is proclaimed for the souls of the army martyrs who fell in the Battle of Honor, "Fajr al-Jouroud", and for the souls of the army martyrs who fell earlier and were officially announced as deceased.
Thus:
- Friday, September 8, 2017 is a national day of mourning.
- All state administrations and municipalities will close on Friday, September 8, 2017.
- Flags will be flown at half-mast over all state administrations and municipalities and over all Lebanese embassies abroad.
- Television and radio programs will be adjusted in accordance with the painful events.
- The Lebanese will observe five minutes of silence at 10:00 am wherever they are, as a Lebanese national and comprehensive expression in support of our brave army in its national battles against terrorism and terrorists and in solidarity with the families of the martyrs and wounded
