Vice Prime Minister, Public Health Minister, Ghassan Hasbani, inaugurated on Thursday Lebanon HR Summit 2017. The conference is organized by CAREERS ME, which is bringing together 21 of the most outstanding and influential HR leaders from around the globe to discuss the latest challenges in the ever changing HR world, as well as present the latest technologies, strategies, solutions, insights and international best practices.
Taking part in the inaugural session had also been Jacqueline Melhem, representing Minister of Trade and Economy Raed Khoury, Mohammad Choucair, head of the Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry (main conference supporter), as well as heads and members of economic bodies.
In his delivered word, Minister Hasbani feared that school and university students were not being taught the things that they would need in the future. He also expressed worry that graduating students might eventually delve into a world that they were not fully prepared for.
"The human resources and capacities that exist in today's world will witness radical change," Hasbani said, suggesting the exchange of the term "human recourses" with "human power".
"Those in charge of human power are required to change it into productive power -- into a power that advances societies instead of remaining idle in an ever-changing world," the Minister added.
Hasbani went on to call for the liberation of institutions which remain tied to conditions and a set of standards in line with the requirements of today's world.
"Let's search for success models in functioning institutions and shed light on them to render an example to follow," Hasbani said, adding that today's Lebanon is in a great need of a gigantic revolution within the frame of human power.
"We have massive existing powers, and it is your role to liberate, guide, and nurture them," the Minister concluded.
