Vice - President of the Republic and chairman of the higher committee for collection of unlicensed weapons and vehicles, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, affirmed that the decision of collection of illegal weapons was one of the most important decision of the national dialogue on ground that the illegal weapons has become a threat to the national, economic and social security.
Addressing Sunday in Rabak city, the White Nile State, the executive and legislative authorities and leaders of the native administration, Hassabo pointed out the state is pressing ahead in the collection of illegal weapons and imposing the rule of law and state sovereignty.
He appreciated the level of political stability and security in the White Nile State, compared to the situation in other states.
Hassabo said that the illegal weapons have used as major element in the drugs, human trafficking, smuggling and tribal disputed.
He said that the most outstanding accomplishment of the national dialogue was that it has set the method of dialogue as alternative to the violence and fighting.
Meanwhile, the Wali (governor) of the White Nile State, Dr. Abdul-Hamid Musa Kasha, has described the collection of illegal weapons as a national and strategic project.
The Speaker of the state's Legislative Assembly, Ismail Naway, has affirmed his assembly's support to the project for collection of illegal weapons.
